Mr. Michael D. Murray

Owner

Mr. Michael D. Murray currently serves as President of A. L. Beal Mortuary of St. Louis, Missouri; where he directs every facet of the company including: planning, services, operations, budget, staff and volunteers.

Murray started his career at the age of 17, as one of the original staff members of A. L. Beal Mortuary, while serving under the leadership of the late President/CEO Mr. Charles S. Wilson Jr. Upon the untimely death of Mr. Wilson in 1998, Michael Murray worked for several local funeral homes: gaining knowledge and techniques from each one along the way.

Mr. Murray is currently completing his Masters of Science Degree in Administration with emphasis in Management from Lindenwood University of Missouri; where he also holds an earned Bachelors of Science Degree in Mortuary Management. A 2001 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service and Alumnus of Normandy High School of St. Louis, Murray is National Board certified through the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards. He holds a Funeral Director and Embalmer license in Missouri, and prior licenses in the states of Virginia and North Carolina.

Michael Murray served in the United States Army as a Mortuary Affairs Specialist. He is a proud and active member of several national, state and local organizations including: President of the St. Louis Gateway Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association; Normandy High School Alumni Association; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated; Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity Incorporated; the Royal Vagabonds Incorporated; the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association; and the Missouri State Funeral Directors & Embalmers Association.

Mr. Michael D. Murray wants to pay things forward by helping other young people find their way in funeral service.
